STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
  • Rookie right-hander Ella Harrison went the distance for the 11th time in 2025 to improve to 9-7 inside the circle. She hurled a trio of strikeouts and is now one shy of entering the season top ten "On The Banks". She gave up only two hits and no earned runs and walked two Terps.
  • Freshman Addie Osborne scored a pair of runs along with redshirt sophomore Bailey Briggs and freshmen Kelsie Riggan and Jayla Fuller crossing home plate.
  • Freshman Baileigh Burtis made it back-to-back multiple RBI games driving in a pair of runs in the fifth inning.
THE RUNDOWN
  • Rutgers scored first getting onto the scoreboard in the second on a double steal with Siera Hoekstra plating the Scarlet Knights' first run of the afternoon.
  • Maryland tied the ballgame in the top of the third, but it would be the Terps only run of the game. Mazie MacFarlane went deep to right-center field, the ball was unable to stay in the glove and went over the ball for the Terp to score.
  • The Scarlet Knights took back the lead in the third. Baileigh Burtis used a sac bunt to move Addie Osborne over to third, setting her up to score on a sac fly from LA Matthews for RU to go ahead 2-1.
  • Burtis later drove in two runs in the fifth, giving the Scarlet Knights a 4-1 advantage. Pinch hitter Jayla Fuller and Osborne both singled to left and scored as Burtis took the ball up the middle for a base hit with one out.
  • RU added an insurance run in the sixth. With Scarlet Knights on first and second, Gaelen Kelly went up the middle this time to score pinch-runner Kelsie Riggan from second base.
