Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. –  Rutgers softball fell in the series finale Michigan with an 8-4 game three loss on Monday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Michigan 8, Rutgers 4
- Freshman Addie Osborne hit her first career home run for RU's first run of the game.
- Freshman Baleigh Burtis was 3-for-4 with a two-run double.
- Redshirt freshman Stephanie Kraska delivered an RBI single in the seventh for the Scarlet Knights' final run of the afternoon.
- Freshman right-hander Ella Harrison tossed her 15th complete game giving up five earned runs on eight hits. She struck out three Wolverines to move into a tie on the single-season strikeout leaders list at RU with 186 batters fanned this season. She needs six more to move past Leah Black (2001) for second and seven more to surpass Alyssa Landrith (2013) as RU's all-time single-season strikeout leader.
- Michigan got an early lead going up 3-0 in their first appearance at the plate. Indiana Langford used a high bounce in front of the circle to beat out the throw and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Jenissa Conway followed, sending a grounder down the first base line, with Langford scoring before the throw could be made. Sieber went to right center for a two-run double.
- The Wolverines added three more the next inning. The bases were loaded for Ella McVey to send the ball to right field. Although Riley Hwang just missed making the catch, the freshman made the quick scope and throw to home to stop Michigan from scoring. However, the bases were still loaded for Ella Stephenson to connect for a base-clearing double down the left field line, extending the Wolverine lead to 6-0.
- Rutgers cut its deficit in half in the top of the fifth. Addie Osborne recorded her first career home run with a solo shot over the wall in left. The Scarlet Knights proceeded to load the bases with an Allison Amadio single in shallow right, Jillian Anderson hit by a pitch and Hwang walking. Baileigh Burtis then delivered a two-run double to left as RU trailed 6-3.
- Michigan's McVey put her squad up 8-3 in their final at-bat with a two-run inside-the-park home run.
- The Scarlet Knights plated a run in the top of the seventh. With two outs, Bailey Briggs walked and Burtis singled thru the left side with both advancing on a wild pitch. Stephanie Kraska singled up the middle to score Briggs and put the tying run on deck, but the game would end at 8-4.
Rutgers is back home to begin a ten-game homestand. The homestand begins with a mid-week return game with Seton Hall on Wednesday, April 16, and a three-game Big Ten weekend series with Northwestern on April 18-20. Admission to all Rutgers softball home games is free.
