Olin Named ECAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

CAPE COD, Mass. – Rutgers junior goalkeeper Billy Olin (Horseheads, N.Y.) was named ECAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Olin was a major part of RU’s 5-4 road win on Saturday over previously undefeated and 14^th ranked Hobart. The junior made six saves in the first half and held the Statesmen scoreless for the first 27:48 of the game. Olin gave up only four goals to a Hobart offense that averages nine scores per game.

The junior is the second Scarlet Knight to earn a weekly honor after freshman Mike Diehl (Flemington, N.J.) was selected as the ECAC men’s lacrosse Rookie of the Week on March 2.

Olin shares the weekly accolades with senior goalkeeper Doc Schneider of UMass
