Rutgers Men's Lacrosse Competes in Pair of Scrimmages

Hempstead, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2011) – The Rutgers men’s lacrosse team opened its spring season with a pair of three quarter exhibitions with Hofstra and Penn. RU tied Hofstra 5-5 and defeated Penn 6-4 at James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University.
“Overall it was a very productive day,” said head coach Jim Stagnitta. “We got to see a lot of guys compete and we played hard against two solid teams.”
The Scarlet Knights open up their 2011 regular season on Friday, Feb. 18, when they welcome Wagner to the RU Turf Field for a 3 p.m. matchup.
