Women’s Tennis to Face UConn and Cornell on the Road

Scarlet Knights travel to Ithaca, New York, for two matchups
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis begins a seven-game road swing with UConn on Saturday at 12 p.m. before facing Cornell on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Both matches will take place at Cornell's home court, the Reis Tennis Center, in Ithaca, New York.
RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (4-0) pushed its win streak to four with a 6-1 victory over in-state foe Seton Hall on Saturday night. The Scarlet Knights secured the doubles point and five singles matchups to top the Pirates.
Sophomore Jaci Cochrane clinched the match for RU with her fourth consecutive win in singles action, including an 8-0 record in singles play across the opening tournament and four dual matches. Freshman Maya Jacobs and sophomore Kat Muzik also sport 4-0 singles mark in dual competition this season.
The duo of Cochrane and Jacobs are 3-0 in doubles action, while Muzik and senior Mingxiu Du are 3-1 as a pair.
SCOUTING UCONN
UConn (3-1) split its outings last weekend with a 5-2 loss to Syracuse and a 4-3 win over Stony Brook. The Huskies opened the season with wins over Siena (6-1) and Marist (7-0).
Across Fall and Spring action, Yelyzaveta Pletnyeva leads the team with a 15-5 record in singles action. Cassie Chung follows with 11-5 singles record on the year.
In doubles play, the pair of Chung and Plentnyeva lead the way with a 6-5 record in 2017-18.

Cornell (3-4) enters the weekend after finishing fourth at the ECAC Indoor Championships in Princeton, New Jersey. The Big Red claimed a win over Yale before falling to Dartmouth and Brown.
Cheyenne Lilienthal paces Cornell with a 4-3 record in singles action. Priyanka Shah follows with a 3-2 singles record.
The duo of Mariko Iinuma and Shah leads the doubles pairs with a 4-2 mark
