Tennis Falls to Minnesota on the Road

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Rutgers tennis fell to Minnesota on the road Sunday afternoon. The Golden Gophers (11-6, 3-0) claimed the doubles point and six singles for the win over the Scarlet Knights (5-6, 0-2).
Minnesota opened the match with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions.
Moving into singles action, senior Chloe Lee started off strong in her match against UM's Tina Kreinis at the No. 2 spot. Lee claimed the first set 6-2 before falling 6-3 in the next. In the final bout, Kreinis recorded a 10-6 victory to hold off Lee.
At the No. 5 position, freshman Maya Jacobs pushed to a 7-5 margin in the second set with the Gophers' Caitlyn Merzbacher, but the late momentum fell short.
