Tennis Begins Spring Break Trip in Orlando

Scarlet Knights face Georgia Southern on Sunday, March 11
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis embarks on a week-long spring break trip starting in Orlando, Florida. The Scarlet Knights begin the week with a match against Georgia Southern on Sunday, March 11.
Rutgers will then open Big Ten play the following weekend at Wisconsin on Friday, March 16 and Minnesota on Sunday, March 17.
RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (4-4) dropped its road contest at Yale by a score of 5-2 on Saturday afternoon. It marked the fourth of seven straight road games for the Scarlet Knights.
Freshmen Maya Jacobs and Isabelle Da Silva picked up singles victories for the Scarlet Knights. Jacobs and Da Silva each own five singles wins this season. Sophomore Jaci Cochrane is also tied for the team lead with five singles wins of her own.
In doubles action, Jacobs and Cochrane pace the pairs with a dual mark of 4-1.
SCOUTING GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Georgia Southern (4-2) split its matches last weekend, falling to Charlotte by a margin of 5-2 on Friday before topping Florida A&M by a score of 7-0 on Sunday.
The Eagles also have wins over Kennesaw State (6-1), Mercer (4-3) and Savannah State (7-0). The team's first loss of the year was to then-No. 20 Florida State (7-0).

The Scarlet Knights are set to begin Big Ten play on Friday, March 16 with a trip to Wisconsin. Rutgers will wrap up the week-long trip as well as a seven-game road swing at Minnesota on Sunday, March 18.
