COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rutgers women's swimming and diving sent three divers to 1M finals with a seventh-place podium finish and saw a Scarlet Knight set a new USA Deaf Swimming 50 freestyle record on day two of the Big Ten Championships at McCorkle Aquatics Center.

Rutgers had three divers qualify for the evening session on 1M for the first time since 2017 as Bailee Sturgill led the Scarlet Knights in taking seventh overall on 1M with a score of 286.50 in her first-ever Big Ten appearance. The freshman qualified for finals after taking seventh in the preliminary round with a score of 277.55.

Senior Holly Prasanto and freshman Katerina Hoffman both advanced to the consolation final. Prasanto was 3.35 points away from the top eight and finished prelims ninth with a score of 273.50. She went on to take sixth in the consolation final with a 275.05. Hoffman was 14^th after the first round scoring a 267.70 and was third in the consolation final with a score of 285.10.

Sophomore Brooke Thompson reset the USA Deaf Swimming Record in the 50 free as she hit the wall in 23.53 in prelim action. The 11-time World Deaf Swimming Championship medalist and eight-time
Deaflympic medalist reset her own record of 23.60 set at last year's Big Ten Championships.

The 2025 Big Ten Women's Swimming & Diving Championships continue on Friday with the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3M and 400 medley relay.
