Timberg Secures Silver at NCAA Championships

Eight Scarlet Knights close out record-setting 2025 outdoor season

EUGENE, Ore. – Rutgers track and field capped its historic season that saw eight Scarlet Knights qualify for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, highlighted by a silver medal from Chloe Timberg. RU closed out the four-day meet with three First Team All-American performances, a pair of Second Team nods and three Honorable Mention.
 
The eight NCAA Championship qualifiers were the most in program history, resulting in the program's highest number of All-America selections in a season.
 
Timberg, the reigning national champion entering Friday's competition, capped an illustrious career with silver in the pole vault. Making her fourth-straight outdoor championship appearance, Timberg cleared 4.49m (14' 8.75") to earn back-to-back First Team All-American honors.
 
The pole vault group on the men's side featured the duo of Kevin O'Sullivan and Nico Morales. O'Sullivan posted a school record height of 5.53m (18' 1.75"), earning first team accolades and a podium finish in a tie for seventh place. Morales placed in a tie for 13th as he cleared 5.33m (17' 5.75").
 
Bryce Tucker, one of three First Team All-Americans, added the third podium finish for the Scarlet Knights as he placed eighth in 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 50.83 in the finals on Friday.
 
Rounding out the performances on the men's side was Chris Serrao who finished 12th in the semi-finals of the 110-meter hurdles, running a time of 13.53 and Steve Coponi who placed 22nd in the javelin with a throw of 62.82m (206' 1").
 
On the women's squad, Paige Floriea finished 17th in the long jump with a distance of 6.05m (19' 10.25"), while Charlee Crawford placed 23rd in the 400-meter with a time of 53.09.
