Volleyball Sweeps Ohio State On Road For Second-Straight Year

COLUMBUS, Ohio ā Rutgers volleyball made it a sweep for the second straight season at the Covelli Center as the Scarlet Knights downed the Ohio State Buckeyes 25-21, 25-14, 25-23.
The win gave RU its first conference win of the season to improve to 10-5 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten. Ohio State fell to 8-5 overall and 1-2 in the league.

| STANDOUT STATS |
- Rutgers saw three Scarlet Knights in double-digit kills, with two hitting over .500 on the night. Imani Howell put away a match-high 13 kills and swung at a .579 clip while Malia Romes, playing in front of home state family and friends, hit a blistering .688 with no errors on 16 attempts while capturing 11 kills. Both Scarlet Knights also racked up four blocks.
- Skylar George also collected double-figure kills with 10.
- Lily Bolen racked up 19 assists and her service ace now makes her five away from her 100th career. She was also just shy of a double-double with nine digs.
- Kenzie Dyrstad came up with a match-high 14 digs.

- SET 1 (25-21) | Addison Wiemann kill started a 7-1 run that put RU up for good. The run included three kills by Imani Howell, putting RU up 18-12. The Buckeyes narrowed the gap late and pulled within a point at 21-20, but a pair of attack errors proved costly for OSU. Malia Romes and Imani Howell put the Scarlet Knights at set point, and the frame closed on Howell's fifth kill of the opening set.

- SET 2 (25-14) | Rutgers was in the driver's seat from start to finish, hitting .452 with 17 kills on 31 attacks and committing only three errors and Romes hit .571 with four kills on seven swings. The set opened with RU taking a 10-2 edge and one of Romes' kills gave the Scarlet Knights its first 10-point edge at 15-5. Howell and Aspen Maxwell put away the set on a block at the right pin.

- SET 3 (23-25) | It was a Scarlet Knight comeback in the final set as RU overcame a 6-2 Buckeye start. Rutgers whittled its deficit down to a point on six occasions, but down the stretch, it was ODU with a 23-20 advantage. From there, RU garnered the final five points, bookmarked by kills from Romes.
