Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Monmouth Wednesday Night

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse (1-1) hosts Monmouth (3-0) on Wednesday at SHI Stadium. First draw is set for 6 p.m., with the game streamed on Big Ten Plus.
The Scarlet Knights enter the week after they delivered a 12-4 win at Delaware last Friday in Newark. The Scarlet Knights never trailed the Blue Hens during the out-of-conference matchup, shutting out Delaware in the first half while forcing the home team into 21 turnovers.

• RU used 7-0 scoring run in the first half and a 14-4 advantage on the draw to produce a 12-4 win last Friday at Delaware.
• Rookie Kate Theofield recorded the first hat trick of her career, finishing the night with five points on three goals and two assists. Senior Lily Dixon tied a career high with five assists, sophomore Caroline Ling tallied three points on two goals and an assist, while junior Payton Tini and sophomore Delainey Sutley chipped in two points apiece.
• Friday marked the least number of goals allowed in a win since RU defeated Le Moyne, 19-2, on Feb. 22, 2025, as Dixon (3), sophomore Bianca Chiarella (2) and freshman Gabby Mariani (2) all forced multiple turnovers. Graduate student Simone Koryszewski produced seven saves, including the 200th of her career, to earn her first win at Rutgers.

• Senior Katie Buck produced eight draw controls last Friday against the Blue Hens – the second consecutive game Buck has tallied eight wins in center circle.
• Buck needs two draw controls to pass to pass Alana Navaroli (2015-18) and Jenny Vlahos (2012-14) for ninth on the program's all-time list.

• Graduate transfer Simone Koryszewski tallied seven saves last weekend against Delaware, securing 200 saves for her career. Koryszewski owns 205 career stops after she tallied 193 saves during her career at Columbia (2022-25).

• Including its season opener with Army, Rutgers is set to play eight programs ranked in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll – No. 3 Maryland, No. 4 Northwestern, No. 7 Johns Hopkins, No. 9 Princeton, No. 12 Michigan, No. 16 Stony Brook, No. 21 Army and No. 23 Penn State.

• Lily Dixon
- With her career-high five assists last Friday, senior Lily Dixon passed Meghan Flanagan (2007-10) for fourth and Taralyn Naslonski (2018-22) for third on the all-time assists list at Rutgers. With her 80 career assists, Naslonski needs four to pass Denise Reed (1987-90) for second, and 13 to pass Marin Hartshorn (2019-23) for the program record.
- With her 121 career points, Dixon needs five points to pass Kristina Dunphey (2014-17) for 20th in program history.
• Payton Tini
- Tini enters the season needing 43 points to become the 28th student-athlete in program history to hit 100 for her career.

• The Hawks enter Wednesday with a perfect 3-0 record, including wins over Merrimack (13-10), La Salle (16-6) and Wagner (13-6).
• Monmouth defeated the Seahawks last Saturday in Staten Island, using a 10-0 scoring run to turn a two-goal deficit into an eight-goal advantage. Shea Berigan tallied a team-high five points on three goals and two assists.
• Rutgers leads the all-time series with Monmouth, 18-3, which includes a 15-8 victory last season indoors at the Capelli Sport Complex in Tinton Falls. Ava Chiarella, Delainey Sutley and Payton Tini all had multiple goals in the victory, while Katie Buck produced a game-high nine draw controls.
