
No. 25 Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Oregon Sunday for Scarlet Out

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 25 Rutgers women's lacrosse (9-5, 3-2) hosts Oregon (6-8, 0-6) on Sunday at SHI Stadium. First draw is set for 1 p.m. and will stream on Big Ten Plus, with Miles Grossman on the call.
Sunday is the program's 'Scarlet Out', with fans encouraged to wear red to the game. The Scarlet Knights will wear their traditional red uniforms. Block R magnets, shakers, season posters and Nike wristbands will be given out prior to the game, while autographs will take place postgame.
RU enters Sunday off its biggest win of the season, defeating No. 6 Michigan, 13-12, on Thursday night in Piscataway. Rutgers has now won four of its last five games, which includes three Big Ten Conference victories and ranked defeats of Michigan and No. 25 Ohio State.

• Rutgers held off a late Wolverines' rally for a 13-12 win on Thursday at SHI Stadium. It marked the Scarlet Knights' 20th ranked win since 2021 and third top-six victory in the past five seasons under head coach Melissa Lehman. The win also snapped UM's seven-game winning streak, which entered the game ranked as high as No. 5 in the country by ILWomen.
• RU dominated in center circle, out-drawing Michigan, 20-7. Senior Katie Buck secured a game-high 13 draw controls for her sixth double-digit draw control game of the season.
• Rutgers outshot Michigan, 36-26, as sophomores Hilary Elsner and Caroline Ling both netted hat tricks in the win. Senior Lily Dixon dished out a team-high four assists, setting the program single-season record with 42 this spring.

• The Scarlet Knights are No. 25 in this week's KANE Women's Division I Media Poll (ILWomen), the program's first ranking of the season. RU also received votes in the IWLCA Coaches Poll for the third consecutive week.
• As of Thursday, Rutgers possesses the ninth-hardest schedule in the NCAA, as its previous opponents own a combined .671 winning percentage. The Scarlet Knights also moved up to No. 11 in the latest RPI released this season.
• According to USA Lacrosse Mag, Rutgers owns the No. 11 SOS with no losses against teams outside the top 30. The Scarlet Knights own X victories over top 35 opponents in the RPI – No. 5 Michigan, No. 23 Villanova, No. 33 Ohio State and No. 35 Delaware.

• With her game-high four assists on Thursday against Michigan, senior Lily Dixon passed Steph Kelly (2022) for the single-season assist record. Dixon's 42 helpers this season rank second in the Big Ten. The Grasonville, Maryland, native became the program's first student-athlete to break 100 assists in a career earlier this spring.

• Senior Katie Buck registered 13 draw controls on Thursday night for her sixth double-digit draw control game of the season. Buck became just the sixth student-athlete in program history to go over 100 draw controls in a season and currently leads the Big Ten with 126 this spring. Her 223 career draw controls rank fourth in program history, as Buck needs just seven to pass Cathy Pecha (1982-83) for third.

• Sophomore Caroline Ling was named a Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-American, announced last week by ILWomen. Ling earned honorable mention laurels at attack, marking six consecutive season Rutgers women's lacrosse has landed at least one student-athlete on the prestigious list under head coach Melissa Lehman.
• Ling has enjoyed a breakout season, tallying a team-high 68 points on 46 goals and 22 assists this spring. Her 46 goals rank fourth in the Big Ten and 12th nationally, while her 3.29 goals per game are 21st in the NCAA. Ling became just the 12th player in program history to hit 60 or more points in a season.

• Underclassmen have accounted for 77 percent of the team's goals (144/186) and 67 percent of the team's points (205/304) this spring.

• The Ducks are 6-8 this season, losing to No. 18 Penn State, 19-9, on Thursday in University Park in their last time out.
• Anna Simmons is ninth in the Big Ten with 4.14 draw controls per game. Simmons is also Oregon's leading scorer with 29 points on 21 goals and eight assists this season.
• Rutgers is 2-0 all-time against Oregon, which includes a 10-6 win in Eugene last season.
