May 20 | Men's Lacrosse
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse continued a trend of participation in the USILA's Senior All-Star Game as rosters were unveiled by the USILA. Colin Kelly and Ben McKelvy were selected to compete in the annual North versus South Game, which will be held this weekend.
The duo will both compete on the North Team in the D1/D2 Game, which begins Friday at 6:30 pm, hosted by Randolph Macon. The game will be available for live streaming online.
Kelly wrapped up a 59-game collegiate career this past season, playing in three seasons as a Scarlet Knight after two seasons at Canisius. Kelly started 43 career games, playing both midfield and attack for RU. In his collegiate career, the Syracuse, N.Y. native scored 107 goals with 19 assists for 126 points, along with 64 ground balls. He won the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2025 and was two-time all-conference at Canisius prior to transferring to RU.
McKelvy was an impactful player for RU across five seasons as a Scarlet Knight. The native of Kent Island in Maryland played in 52 games, starting 45 of them at close defense. In that time, he collected 66 ground balls and had 29 caused turnovers, with career-highs this past season of 29 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. He also added one goal and two assists. McKelvy was the 2026 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner, the team's 2025 Robert Collet Trophy winner, and has previously been recognized as academic All-Big Ten.
With the selections, RU continues a proud tradition of representation at the annual North-South Game, which dates back to 1940. Rutgers will count 140 players all-time participating in the all-star event. RU has 26 representatives in the game over the past nine years (seven eligible games), dating back to game MVP Scott Bieda in 2016. Rutgers did not have any players in the 2022 All-Star Game as the team was participating in the Final Four that weekend. It is the third time in the past four years that RU has had multiple players participating, with nine players total in the last four games.
