Ethan Rall, Connor Kirst Win PLL Awards

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Two Rutgers men's lacrosse alumns were recognized with top awards in the Premier Lacrosse League on Friday night. Ethan Rall was named the PLL Long-Stick Midfielder of the Year, while Connor Kirst earned the Teammate of the Year award.
Ethan Rall was recognized as the top player at his position, earning the Brodie Merrill Long Stick Midfielder of the Year award. At Rutgers, Rall a two-time All-American and three-time All-Big Ten selection, finishing his career as the program record holder in career caused turnovers with 85. The Islip, N.Y. native was undrafted out of college, and since has proven himself as one of the top players at the pro level on the defensive end.
A PLL All-Star for the first time, Rall had a career-high 43 ground balls with 12 caused turnovers and a goal across 12 games with the Cannons, with five caused turnovers in the two playoff games to lead the Cannons to the Semifinals. He had the most ground balls of any long-stick midfielder in the league and is a finalist for Long Stick Midfielder of the Year for the third time. In four years with Boston, Rall has 143 ground balls and 64 caused turnovers, along with six goals.
Rall's teammate with the Cannons, Connor Kirst earned the Jimmy Regan Teammate of the Year Award. A well-liked players throughout the league, Kirst has earned multiple nominations for the accolade. Kirst spent his final collegiate season at Rutgers in 2021, where he recorded 37 goals and 53 points to push RU into the NCAA Tournament for the first time under head coach Brian Brecht. He was a Third Team All-American and First Team All-Big Ten selection.
Drafted in the First Round (seventh overall) out of RU, Kirst has played in 64 career PLL games. The do-it-all midfielder concluded his third season with the Cannons following three with the Whipsnakes and has 58 career points (44 goals) with 98 ground balls.
