NEW YORK – The Rutgers track and field record books were rewritten for the fourth-straight weekend as pole vaulters
Chloe Timberg and
Kevin O'Sullivan crushed the indoor records on Friday at the Scarlet Knights Open at the New York Armory.
Timberg, the All-American and outdoor record holder, improved on her own indoor record with a height that leads the NCAA and ranks No. 2 all-time. She bested the previous record, clearing 4.72m (15' 5.75") to win the event. The height was also the No. 1 ranked mark in the world.
Kevin O'Sullivan and his brother Brian have traded places at the top of the Rutgers record books for the past three weeks. The pair previously shared the indoor record on January 18, however, Brian took sole possession of the record the following weekend on January 24.
