INDIANAPOLIS – Rutgers track and field completed the first day of competition at the 2025 Big Ten Indoor Championships on Friday, February 28 in Indiana. The Scarlet Knights claimed five combined podium finishes, while a pair of athletes advanced to the finals on Saturday.
Brian O'Sullivan and
Kevin O'Sullivan provided the first points on the men's side with each of them earning a podium finish. Brian finished fifth, clearing a height of 5.45m (17' 10.5"), while Kevin placed eighth with a height of 5.25m (17' 2.75"). It marked the second-straight indoor conference championships that the pair each earned a podium finish.
The distance medley relay team of
Micah Lawson,
Gabriel Rodriguez,
Robert Poplau and
Gavin Richards finished seventh with a time of 9:41.50 to secure points for the Scarlet Knights.
Chris Serrao made it through to the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a qualifying time of 7.85 in the first round Friday.
On the women's side,
Chloe Timberg took a spot on the podium as she finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing 4.36m (14' 3.5"). It was her fourth-consecutive indoor championships scoring points for the Scarlet Knights.
Celine-Jada Brown also posted a fourth-place finish for the Scarlet Knights as she claimed a spot on the podium in the long jump with a distance of 6.34m (20' 9.75").
Charlee Crawford ran a qualifying time of 53.18 to advance to the 400-meter finals on Saturday.
The Scarlet Knights return to action for the final day of competition with several events left to go on the schedule, including men's and women's high jump, men's and women's triple jump and the 4x400-meter relays.
