Track and Field Wraps Weekend at Harvard and BU

Scarlet Knights turn in strong performances in split weekend in Massachusetts

BOSTON – Rutgers track and field split its squad, send Scarlet Knights to compete in the Crimson Elite on the campus of Harvard on Friday, February 7 and the Scarlet & White Invite on the Boston University campus on Saturday, February 8.

"Im proud of the team for some very strong performances this weekend," said Bobby Farrell, director of track & field and cross country. "We had 17 performances in the top 10 all-time and 30 personal records. It was another great tune up as we prepare for Big Ten Championships in three weeks."

Highlighting the performances on Friday was Nico Morales who placed first in the pole vault, clearing 5.35m (17' 6.5") which ranks third-best in the Rutgers record books. On the track, Chris Serrao placed second in the 60-meter hurdles, running 7.80.
 
Alicia Campbell finished second in the weight, throwing 19.71m (64' 8"), while Alanna Woolfolk took second in the high jump, posting a height of 1.73m (5' 8").
 
On the following day, at the Scarlet & White Invite, Campbell won the weight, outpacing the previous day's throw to hit 20.00m (65' 7.5").
 
The Scarlet Knights saw solid finishes from its relay squads as the men's 4x400-meter team of Serrao, Lathan Brown, Bryce Tucker and Joshua Babe ran a time of 3:10.68 to finish second. On the women's side, Success Duruzor, Charlee Crawford, Paige Floriea and Shelby Whetstone combined to run a time of 3:39.96 and finish third.
 
All-American Chloe Timberg returned to New York to take part in the 117th running of the historic Millrose Games at the Armory. Timberg faced off against the top American pole vaulters, finishing fourth behind an Olympic gold medalist and two World Championship qualifiers.
 
Rutgers will travel to Chicago for a final tune up before the 2025 Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Scarlet Knights will compete in the Windy City Invite, hosted by Wisconsin on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15.
