PHILADELPHIA – Rutgers senior pole vaulter
Chloe Timberg successfully defended her title at the renowned Penn Relays on Saturday, April 26. It was her third career championship in the event as the Scarlet Knights earned 10 total medals on the weekend.
Timberg became a back-to-back champion in the pole vault, clearing 4.46m (14' 7.5"). It was a fitting end to her Rutgers career at the historic Franklin Field where she set the meet and facility record in 2024, while winning the championship.
Suzy Lacombe won the college section of the pole vault as she cleared a height of 4.11m (13' 5.75"). Rutgers earned a pair of second-place finishes in the championship sections of the long jump and triple jump.
Paige Floriea posted a mark of 6.14m (20' 1.75") in the long jump to finish second, while
Faith Bethea took second in the triple jump with a distance of 12.56m (41' 2.5").
Jenovia Logan finished in a tie for third in the high jump, clearing 1.70m (5' 7") and
Ayotunde Folawewo placed second in the college section of the triple jump with a leap of 12.29m (40' 4") to round out the medal finishes on the women's side.
On the men's side, Rutgers scored a win in the college 4x800-meter relay as
Kyle Rakitis,
Gavin Richards,
Robert Poplau and
Gabriel Rodriguez combined to run a time of 7:24.42. Also on the track,
Bryce Tucker placed third in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 50.79.
Donovan Anderson finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 14.97m (49' 1.5"), while
Noah Kriesman placed third in the pole vault with a height of 5.11m (16' 9.25").
The Scarlet Knights will return to action on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 for a split weekend between the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Florida and the Larry Ellis Invitational on the Princeton campus.
