PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Coming off a stellar true freshman campaign, Rutgers right-handed pitcher
Landon Mack received an invite to the 2025 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer.
Mack will head to North Carolina at the end of June as one of 56 players competing for a spot on the Team USA Collegiate National Team. As part of training camp, the players will compete in five Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad games from June 29-July 3, with the final roster being named after the last game.
The Collegiate National Team will then play in the USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship series across Japan from July 8-13. The remaining players from training camp will play against the Appalachian League Select Team in Kannapolis, North Carolina on the Fourth of July.
Mack put together a strong freshman season, where he emerged as the team's top starter and the top freshman starter in the Big Ten. Mack posted a 6-5 record with a 4.03 ERA, striking out 70 batters with just 17 walks across 80.1 innings. He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and received Big Ten Pitcher and Freshman of the Week honors after a seven-inning shutout performance at No. 9 Oregon earlier in the season. Among all Big Ten freshmen, Mack ranked first in innings (80.1) and strikeouts (70) as well as second in ERA (4.03), WHIP (1.22) and BB/9 (1.9).
This marks the fourth time in the last four seasons that a Scarlet Knight has received an invite to the Collegiate National Team Training Camp, with Ryan Lasko (2022),
Christian Coppola (2023) and
Josh Kuroda-Grauer (2023) all earning past invites. Prior to that, Bobby Brownlee (2001) and Todd Frazier (2006) both represented the Team USA Collegiate National Team on behalf of Rutgers.
