PISCATAWAY, N.J. ā Rutgers field hockey returns home for a pair of Big Ten games this weekend at the Bauer Track and Field Hockey Complex. The Scarlet Knights host No. 18 Michigan on Friday at 3 pm, then welcome Michigan State on Sunday at 12 pm. Both games will be live streamed on B1G+. Dom Savino will be on play-by-play, joined by former letterwinners Kerrie Burns (Friday) and Liz Romano (Sunday).
Sunday is Senior Day and Letterwinners Day, and the program will celebrate the five-year anniversary of the 2021 Big Ten Tournament championship team. Rutgers will have a postgame Senior Day ceremony to honor Olivia Beattie, Olivia Fraticelli, Maddie Olshemski, Maddie Kidd, Emma Uprichard, Talia Schenck and Laura Loycke.
About Rutgers
Rutgers grabbed its first Big Ten win of the season with a 3-2 penalty shootout victory over Ohio State last Friday. RU has now won 10 straight games over the Buckeyes. The Scarlet Knights are 7-6 on the year, with five of the six losses having come against ranked opponents (No. 18 Monmouth, No. 5 Virginia, No. 4 Princeton, No. 10 UConn and No. 2 Maryland). Rutgers also owns a win over then-No. 12 Syracuse.
Olivia Fraticelli had her 22nd career goal at Ohio State, tying Rachel Yaney (2013-16) for ninth in program history. One more would tie Guillermina Causarano (2021-24) for eighth, while two more would tie Linde van Schaik (2015-18) for seventh. She leads the team with 11 goals, matching her career high from last season.
Freshman back Eden Doucelin was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday after playing every minute against the Buckeyes, when Rutgers allowed one goal from the field of play. The native of Brussels, Belgium, is the second Rutgers freshman to earn the weekly award this season, joining fellow back Lauren Iaccio.
