Why Rutgers? "I chose Rutgers to further my academic and athletic career because of the majors available, how close it is to home and the coaches' attitude about the game of baseball."
Head Coach Steve Owens: "Xavier is an excellent defensive outfielder with a good throwing arm. With his strong build, we project him more as a corner outfielder with an advanced swing."
2023 (Freshman)
Did not see action... redshirted.
Prior to Rutgers: A varsity starter at Audubon since freshman year … hit .400 as a junior to earn second team all-conference … named a top-60 player in New Jersey by PBR … played travel baseball for All Out, Mid Atlantic, Beast United, Canes National, BPC and Brooklawn over nine years … also played varsity soccer as a freshman and sophomore .. earned a spot on the Honor Roll all marking periods … president of the STARS Club … involved in the Interact Club.
Personal: Son of Lori and Dwight Massey … father played football at Widener … has a younger sister, Jada … intends to major in exercise science.
